In 1907 Brenner (1) described a new type of ovarian tumor which he designated oophoroma folliculare. He believed that this type was the most mature form of the folliculoid granulosa-cell tumor. R. Meyer (2) reinvestigated the available material and showed that the Brenner tumor is macroscopically, as well as microscopically, a well defined tumor of the ovary, and has no relation to the granulosa-cell tumor.
